Thank you so much for your interest in signing up for our Online Banking. Please be assured that this is a secure site and no one else but us (your bankers at American Bank) will see your personal information.

Before we get started, please make sure you have the following items:

• Your account number
If you are the primary owner on the account, all other accounts that you are the primary owner on will be automatically linked. If you are listed as a secondary owner, you will only get a link to the account number you list. If there are additional accounts that list you as a secondary owner, please contact the number listed and we will add them to your online banking account.

• Your Social Security Number or Tax ID Number

• The email address on file with us. If you do not have an email address on file with us, please contact your local branch and ask to have your email address added to your account before enrolling right now for our Online Banking.

There are a few things you should know about this process.

1.If the information you type in here now does not exactly match what we already have in our bank file, your online application will reject. This is a security measure to protect your account and ensure that no one else but you can sign you up for internet banking.

2. If your online application does reject, please call us at the number listed to validate or clarify information that may be needed to complete the process.

3. If your enrollment application is accepted, you will have to confirm your identity through a link in the confirmation email you will receive upon enrollment completion.

4. You must access this link from the same computer and browser you used to fill out the enrollment application and you will only have one hour to do so.

If you would rather not provide this information online right now, you can still become an online banking user. Please call a Customer Service Representative (CSR) at any of our branches and they will tell you how.

Security & Protecting Your Account
American Bank of the North is committed to the protection, security, and confidentiality of our customers’ personal and account information. In an effort to maintain this commitment, American Bank of the North continues to utilize the latest technology in the continuous development of its Online Banking service.

American Bank of the North uses the following methods to protect your account information:

  • You can only access Online Banking with browsers that have high security standards.
  • Your account numbers are not displayed or transmitted across the Internet.
  • You must have a valid ID and PIN to sign in. You are only allowed three attempts to log into Online Banking with the correct ID and PIN. If you do not enter the correct ID and PIN your account will be locked after the third attempt.
  • Added security layer where our customer will set up security questions and phone call authorization. Our system tracks the customer’s computer usage and when there is irregular activity i.e. signing in from a different computer the customer normally does not use the system will prompt the user to answer up to two of their security questions or complete phone call verification. The system assumes that only a legitimate customer will know the answers to these challenge questions or have access to phone number provided. If the customer is unsuccessful at validating their identity 3 times they will become blocked and will have to contact a CSR to unblock them.
  • After 10 minutes of inactivity you will be automatically logged off of Online Banking.

  • You are responsible for using the following methods to protect your account information:

  • Anit-Virus & Anti-Malware software installed and regularly updated on the devices used to access Online Banking.
  • Accessing Online Banking using a Supported Brower or the American Bank App.
  • Never give out personal information such as your PIN.
  • Never leave your computer unattended while logged into Online Banking.
  • Always exit by clicking on “Log Out” after using Online Banking.
  • Notify Customer Service immediately if you suspect that your ID or PIN has become known to or used by an unauthorized person.

  • E-mail and Virus Protection

American Bank of the North encourages you not to send any confidential information including social security numbers, account numbers, IDs, and PINs via e-mail. You need only to send your name and if desired, a phone number where Customer Service may reach you.
